Pescara is a capital city of the Italian region Abruzzi. It lies at the mouth of the river Aterno-Pescara. Till the beginning of the 20^th century the city-area surrounding of Pescara was divided into 2 districts: the Chieti district and the Pescara one. According to the “program of the territorial reorganisation” of the “Fascismo” era the 2 municipalities were rejoined and the new Province of Pescara was formed. Nowadays the province of Pescara has about 350,000 inhabitants.
